Primary Services
Job Type Tune Up
Estimated Job Time ~ 1-2 hours
Estimated Shutdown Time ~ Not Needed
Job Description
This is our standard, routine health check, and, well, Tune Up, of your espresso machine. We replace group gaskets and screens (the most common wearable parts on any machine), adjust all temperature and pressure set-points, visually inspect the internals of the machine, and stress test all systems to look for any current or potential issues and ensure optimal operation.
The frequency of these Visits is determined by your volume and overall needs. These visits do not require shut down and have little impact on your coffee service since we are able to work alongside your baristas while focusing on one section of the machine at a time. We will remove the top of your espresso machine for the visual inspection, so having all cups removed prior to our arrival window will help reduce friction.
Espresso Machine
Job Type Annual Service
Estimated Job Time ~ 2-3 hours
Estimated Shutdown Time ~ 1 hour
Job Description This is the back bone of any Preventative Maintenance program, a once per year Visit where a full service is performed on your espresso machine. We complete a standard Tune Up, drain and flush your boiler(s) to help resist scale and debris buildup, then go through the Brew, Steam and Drain Systems to inspect and stress-test all electrical and hydraulic components in each circuit.
We replace or rebuild the most common, wearable parts in each system to help keep your machine running smoothly and safely, and we adjust all temperature and pressure set-points.
The Espresso Annual requires us to interrupt your coffee service briefly, so we’ll work with you schedule this vital, once per year service on a day and time that works for you, inside our normal business hours.
Add-Ons Services
Grinder
Job Type Grinder Service
Estimated Job Time ~ 45min
Estimated Shutdown Time ~ 45min
Job Description Grinders need some TLC, too. Let us deep clean the grind chamber, chute and burr set on your grinder(s). Depending on the make/model, We’ll also inspect, clean, or replace the flapper, clump crusher, anti-static screen, etc., and lubricate the collar. When done, we calibrate and dial in the grinder, and stress-test to inspect all systems.
Job Type Grinder Service + Burr Replacement
Estimated Job Time ~ 45min
Estimated Shutdown Time ~ 45min
Job Description Are your shots tasting “flat” and pulling super inconsistently no matter how you dial in? Can’t remember the last time, or if you’ve ever replaced the burr set on your grinder(s) in the past few…years? If so, it might be time for a new burr set. We can complete our standard Grinder Service, but rather than clean your old burr set, we’ll replace them.
Water Filtration
Job Type Water Filter Replacement
Estimated Job Time ~ 10 min per filter
Estimated Shutdown Time ~ 10 min per filter
Job Description Water is everything. It’s ~90% of whats in your cup of espresso (sans milk and sugar), and its what fills, heats, and flows through your espresso machine all day, everyday. In order to get the best tasting coffee, and greatly slow the inevitable buildup of scale that leads to water related clogs and damage, proper water filtration is a must.
Let us help. We can test your untreated tap water at your location, then install the best filtration system for your specific needs (water, volume, budget). Tap water across the Bay Area changes from county to county and throughout the year, so routine testing and filter replacement is one of the best ways to take care of your espresso machine and coffee quality.
As an Add-On in our PM Plans, we will test your water at a regular interval based on your volume, and keep your filters fresh and dialed to your needs.
Brewer
Job Type Brewer Service
Estimated Job Time ~ 45min
Estimated Shutdown Time ~ 45min
Job Description
Yes, we drink drip coffee, too—and we can service your batch coffee brewer. While less involved than an espresso machine, your brewer has normal wear and tear as well. Water filtration is the best thing you can do for your brewer, but our Brewer Service goes the extra mile.
We will clean and inspect your brewer’s shower heads, replacing as needed. We will test the hot water tap (or valve), replacing the silicone seal and/or spring lever assembly as needed. We will remove the top and do a visual inspection of the tank, valves, fittings, and electrical components. We will clean your autofill probe(s) and temperature probe(s). We will run a diagnostic of all components in the autofill, heat and brew systems. We will inspect and adjust the temperature set-point.
Other than some TLC, the main value here is having a trained technician inspect the brewer to catch any potential issues before they arise. If we find evidence of a component at risk of failure/damage, we’ll loop you in and decide together if it makes sense to preventatively replace or rebuild the part, or monitor it. Monitoring will at least equip you with some knowledge of what to expect, and an estimated cost to budget for.
Hot Water Tower
Job Type Hot Water Tower Service
Estimated Job Time ~ 45min
Estimated Shutdown Time ~ 45min
Job Description Similar to our Brewer Service—water filtration is the best thing you can do for your hot water tower, but our Hot Water Tower Service goes the extra mile. We will test the hot water tap (or valve), replacing the silicone seal and/or spring lever assembly as needed. We will remove the top and do a visual inspection of the tank, valves, fittings, and electrical components. We will clean your autofill probe(s) and temperature probe(s). We will run a diagnostic of all components in the autofill, heat, and water dispensing systems. We will inspect and adjust the temperature set-point.

Pitcher Rinser
Job Type Pitcher Rinser Service
Estimated Job Time ~ 45min
Estimated Shutdown Time ~ 45min
Job Description The small and mighty Pitcher Rinser. Ask any barista at a busy cafe which tool / accessory on the espresso bar is most important for their work flow, and we’d bet the oft understated Pitcher Rinser lands near the top of the charts. With constant wear from daily use (unavoidable abuse?), these tuff, simple little valves show up and get the job done.
Ask any barista if they’ve been present when a Pitcher Rinser fails, shooting a jet-stream of pressurized water to the ceiling during a rush while everyone scrambles to find the shut off valve, and we’d bet you’d hear some stories—the kind that are only funny in hindsight.
Despite their ubiquitous value and heavy use, the humble Pitcher Rinser tends to go unnoticed—until they leak, get stuck off, someone loses/breaks the “star,” someone finally puts their foot down about the rotten milk smell, or the ceiling gets an unexpected pressure washing.
Add-On our Pitcher Rinser Service to your PM Plan and we’ll just go ahead and rebuild that tuff, little valve before it has a chance to get noticed. We’ll inspect the drain hose situation, too, and replace as needed.
